Punjab and Haryana High Court yesterday handed over the investigation of the Rohtak Acid attack case of 2011 to CBI. In this case the acid was thrown on three minor girls by two boys on the 18th June, 2011, when they were returning from tuition on two wheelers. All three had suffered serious burn injuries. The bench headed by Justice Rajan Gupta directed the CBI to file a status report by the 30th August 2011 and complete the investigation in six months. The High Court also stayed Rohtak trial court`s proceedings in the case and directed the Haryana Government to inform the high court about the cost of tratment and plastic surgery of the girls on the next date of hearing.
