Swiss Roger Federer will miss next month's Rio Olympics and remainder of the season due to a knee problem. Federer, the current world number three, made the announcement in a Facebook post. He said, he underwent a knee surgery earlier this year and needs extensive rehabilitation. The 17-time Grand Slam winner said, his doctors advised him to rest both his knees and allow his body to recover fully if he wants to play the ATP World Tour. He said, he will be looking to comeback as a stronger and healthier player.Federer had missed this year's French Open due to a back problem. However, he came back strongly at the Wimbledon Championships last month where he was beaten in the semi-finals. Stanislas Wawrinka is the other Men's Singles player for Switzerland in the Rio Games. The Games begin on the 5th of next month.
