Six-time champion Roger Federer has crashed out of Wimbledon men's singles round. He was defeated by 12th-seeded Czech Tomas Berdych to day by three sets to one – 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. It is the first time since 2002 that Federer has failed to reach the final.Earlier, American sisters – Venus Williams and Serena Williams lost in the Women's doubles quarterfinals. They were beaten by the Russian combination of Elena Vesnina and Vera Zvonareva in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 4-6. In the Women's singles semi-final tomorrow, defending champion Serena will meet Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic. The other semi-final will be between Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova and Russian Vera Zvonareva.
