A Frenchman has set a new world record for cycling the furthest distance in one hour for riders aged 105 or older. Robert Marchand, who is 105, rode more than 22.5 kilometers at an indoor venue on the outskirts of Paris yesterday. Marchand said, he would have been quicker and got a better result if he had seen a sign warning him there were just 10 minutes left in his ride. He said, the key to his good health is eating lots of fruit and vegetables every day and doing exercise. The former fireman was born in 1911 and took up cycling seriously in his 60s. In 2014 – aged 102 – he rode nearly 27 kilometers in one hour to break the record in the over-100s category. The current men's hour record is held by the UK's Bradley Wiggins – 54.526km – which he set in June 2015.
