Road expansion likely to be completed by end of the year says KamalNath

Government has said that by the end of the year, 25,000 kilometers of road expansion or construction is likely to be completed. Addressing Economic Editors Conference in New Delhi today, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Kamal Nath said that 12 kilometers of roads are being built every day on an average. He further said that 4000 kilometers of road are being constructed in Naxal affected areas and 16,000 kilometers of one lane highway is being converted into double lanes. The Minister said, government has approved National Permit Scheme to allow seamless travel and transport. He told the participating editors that government is also working on single toll technology throughout the country.
