At least five people have been killed and 28 injured in two separate road accidents early on Thursday morning in Assam and neighbouring Meghalaya. In the first accident, two people were killed and 27 including children were injured when a night super bus coming from Mankachar in Dhubri district of Assam to Guwahati rammed into a stationary truck parked on the roadside and overturned into nearby field near Azara on the outskirts of Guwahati in the wee hours of Thursday. Eight critically injured passengers have been shifted to Guwahati Medical Hospital, while the rest with minor injuries have been treated at the Azara Primary Health Centre. The accident took place at around 5 in the morning when the entire area was enveloped in dense fog. There were around 35 passengers in the bus.<br/><br/>In another accident at Sonapur in neighbouring Meghalaya, at least three people have been killed and one injured when the Alto car in which they were travelling fell into Luva River on Thursday morning. The vehicle was on way to Silchar from Guwahati. The car fell around 700 feet deep from the highway killing three occupants of the car on the spot.<br/>
