In Uttar Pradesh, at least seven pilgrims were killed in a road accident when a bus in which they were travelling plunged into a road side ditch in Banda district. Quoting police sources, AIR correspondent reports that about 66 passengers have received injuries in the incident. Of them, 22 are admitted to Banda district hospital and nine have been referred to Medical College Hospital at Kanpur. Most of the victims belong to Hamirpur, Mahoba and nearby districts of Madhya Pradesh. They were on the way to Chitrakoot for pilgrimage.
