In a road accident in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, 15 people including a child were killed and eleven others injured. The Superintendent of Police, Azamgarh, Bhagwan Swarup told AIR Allahabad correspondent that the incident occurred late Monday night under Gambhirpur police station. <br/><br/>A UP Roadways Undertaking Bus on Azamgarh-Varanasi highway initially hit a person and later tried to flee from the spot, but the Bus driver lost control and ran over a gathering of people who were taking part in a marriage ceremony. <br/><br/>Two of them died on the spot while 13 other injured succumb to injuries in hospitals. The SP Azamgarh said that the injured have been admitted in Azamgarh and Varanasi hospitals. Later, the driver of the Bus was also arrested by police and further investigations are on.<br/><br/>Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Ram Achal Rajbhar has announced ex-gratia payment of one lakh rupees for the kins of the deceased and 25,000 rupees for the injured.
