In Karnataka, five people were killed on the spot and six others were injured when a cruiser jeep collided with an empty truck on NH-9 near Honnekeli in Bidar district. Police said all the deceased were pilgrims. They were returning to Maharashtra from Tirupati. The injured, of whom two were seriously injured, were admitted to Humnabad Hospital.
