Senior Trinamool Congress leader and Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi today said that the meeting of his party MPs with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is to convey the concern over rising petrol prices.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr. Trivedi denied reports of the TMC pulling out of the UPA alliance. He said that mature democracies cannot function on threats.

Mr. Trivedi said that both the Congress and TMC have a mutual objective of reducing the burden on the common man. He expressed confidence that the meeting with the Prime Minister will result in a workable solution.
