In UP, several rivers continue their rising trend due to heavy rainfall in their catchments. The river Ghaghra is flowing 57 centimetres above the danger mark in Barabanki. The river is flowing above the red mark in Faizabad and Basti. Our Correspondent reports that the river Sharda is swollen due to additional release of water from Banbasa barrage in Pilibhit district.AIR correspondent reports, more than 50 villages in Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri and Barabanki have become marooned while 68 houses have collapsed in Dhaurahra area of Lakhimpur district. Over two dozxen villages have become affected due to flood of Ghaghra river. Additional release from Valmiki Nagar Barrage has eroded the Amwa Khas embankment in Kushinagar. The met office has predicted more rain in the eastern part of the state during next 24 hours.
