Oil prices were higher in Asian trade on Monday. New York's main contract, light sweet crude gained over 71 cents to 77.06 dollars a barrel while Brent North Sea crude gained 55 cents to 76.86 dollars. Analysts said the rise in prices is due to buying by investors into commodities including crude on the back of a weak dollar.
