Thousands of riot police have been deployed on the streets of Egyptian capital Cairo ahead of mass anti-government protests after Friday prayers. The authorities have closed down all mobile phone networks and inter-net services used by demonstrators to organise their rallies. It follows three days of unprecedented protests in which at least 8 people have been killed. The largest Egyptian opposition group the Muslim Brotherhood says it is supporting the protests.
