Brazilian police say they have negotiated an end to a hostage crisis with armed men onboard a bus in downtown Rio de Janeiro. Authorities say at least three hostages received gunshot wounds. There are no reported fatalities. Rio police could not confirm the number of gunmen involved in the standoff. A police officer said the hijackers were heavily armed with grenades and the outcome of the incident was as good as it could be. Brazilian television broadcasts showed live coverage showing police cars surrounding the bus.
