Rio Olympics: Bombayla Devi enter round of Eight; Indian Shooters disappoint again

In Archery Women's singles recurve event, India's Bombayla Devi beats Chinese Taipei's Shin Chia 6-2 to enter the round of Eight. Earlier, she defeated Austria's Laurence Baldhuff to enter the round of sixteen. Later today, Deepika Kumari will be appearing in her round of 32. Deepika will be up against Kristine Esebua of Georgia. Yesterday, Atanu first blanked his Nepalese opponent Jitbahadur Muktan 6-Nil to reach round of 16. In that stage, Atanu defeated Cuba's Adrian Perez 6-4 in a thrilling contest. Atanu will now feature in round of 8 on Friday where he will meet Lee Seung-yun, a South Korean opponent who has been part of the Gold winnig team event in this Olympics.Meanwhile Indian Shooters disappoint again. Both ace marksmen Jitu Rai and Parakash Nanjappa crashed out of 50-metre men's pistol qualifying at Rio Olympics. Jeetu Rai finished at 12th position while Nanjappa ended up at 25th in a pool of 41 competitors.
