Rio Olympics: Abhinav Bindra misses medal, India lose to Germany in hockey

Star Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra today missed a medal in the final of the men's 10m Air Rifle event at Rio Olympics. He qualified for the final of the event finishing seventh in the qualifying round. Gagan Narang however crashed out finishing at a lowly 23rd position in the qualifiers.Bindra, who is taking part in his fifth and last Olympics, scored 625.7 to book a berth in the finals. This is the only event Bindra is competing in the ongoing Olympics.India's men's hockey team today lost to Germany at the Rio Olympics 1-2. Though India played brilliantly to keep the reigning Champions Germany to 1-1 till the dying moments, the winning goal came through Christopher Ruhr just a few seconds before the hooter.Germany took the initial lead through Niklas Wellen in the second quarter. Soon India levelled when drag-flick experts Rupinder Pal Singh scored a goal. Earlie, India broke a 12-year Olympics jinx by winning their opening group league encounter against Ireland 3-2.
