India still will be looking for a medal at the Rio Olympics, as it enters 10th day. In track and field, India will present its contention in various events today. Lalita Babar, the first Indian athlete in 32 years to enter the Finals of an individual event of the Games in track category, will be seen in the 3000 meters steeplechase. She qualified to the Finals of the event after clocking 9 minutes 19.76 seconds, a national record time. Another Indian track star, Sarbani Nanda will be featuring in the heat of women's 200 meters. Sarbani had clocked 23.07 seconds in the 200 meter race to secure her Olympics berth. In the Men's Triple Jump, Renjith Maheshwary will be seen in the qualifications round today. Asian Games champion, Seema Punia will also be in action today, as she features in the qualification of Women's Discus throw event.In Badminton, PV Sindhu and K Srikanth will be taking the country's hope for a medal ahead in their respective categories. In Round of 16, Sindhu will take on Tai Tzu Ying from Chinese Taipei, while Srikanth will face Denmark's Jan O Jorgensen today.The lone Indian pugilist in the Olympics, Vikas Krishan will try to ensure a medal for the country. In the 75 kg weight class, Vikas will play his quarter-finals bout against Uzbekistan's Bektemir Melikuziev today. If Vikas enters semi finals, a minimum Bronze will be ensured for India.And, in the Greco-Roman category of Wrestling, Ravinder Khatri will play his pre-quarter finals match in the 85 kg weight class. His opponent is yet to be determined.
