The Uttar Pradesh Human Rights Commission has issued notices to the state government and district officials of Lakhimpur Kheri district to file a detailed report on the death of a youth in a police out post in the district, by the 29th of this month. The commission has also directed the submitting of a copy of the post mortem report. Our Lucknow correspondent reports that, taking suo motu cognizance of media reports of the incident, member of the Commission, Vishnu Sahai issued the notices. Justice Sahai has asked the commission to put up the case for orders on December. According to the report, a local youth, who was picked up by the police on Saturday night died in police custody. Relatives of the deceased have lodged an FIR against four policemen and a woman.
