Right to Education Act to be extended upto secondary level

Right to Education Act is all set to be extended to the secondary level in the country. Announcing this at a function in New Delhi today, Human Resource Development Minister Dr M M Pallam Raju said the government is committed to providing quality and inclusive education to all sections of the society, especially the economically weaker sections. The Minister was addressing the 24th foundation day function of National Institute of Open Schooling. Pointing towards targeted goal of skilling 500 million people by 2022, Dr Raju said, pooling all the resources is the need of the hour.

Minister of state for HRD Shashi Tharoor stressed propagating quality education. He said right educational and vocational skills are imperative to generate productive and youthful workforce. He called for adopting a calibrated approach for judicious use of information and communication technologies.
Former President APJ Abdul Kalam appealed the teaching fraternity to infuse confidence among students and mould them into enlightened citizens of the country.
