Ricoh Open: Indian challenge ends; Paes-Lipsky lose in QFs

Indian challenge ended at the Ricoh Open with the quarterfinal defeat of Leander Paes and his American partner Scott Lipsky.The unseeded Indo-American pair was defeated by second seeded pair of Raven Klaasen and Rajeev Ram in the grass court tournament in the Netherlands. The Indian duo of Divij Sharan and Purav Raja also fell at the first hurdle. They lost to Brazil's Andre Sa and Michael Venus of New Zealand 3-6 4-6.Meanwhile, at Challenger event at Citta di Caltanissetta in Italy, Ramkumar Ramanathan advanced to second round in the singles category. He beat Austria's Sebastian Ofner 6-2 4-6 7-6(6) win.The Indian Davis Cupper next faces Kazakhatan's 126th- ranked Mikahil Kukushkin. At the Lisbon Open, Prajnesh Gunneswaran lost his opening round 5-7 4-6 Joao Domingues.
