Australian batsman, Ricky Ponting who led the side in the on-going ICC Cricket World Cup, has stepped down as the captain of the team in all forms of the game. He will now continue, as a batsman in the team and Michael Clarke will be named as the new captain. The decision comes after the shocking exit of the defending champions in the Quarter-finals at the hands of the co-hosts India.
