The rice production in the country is expected to cross 90 million tonnes in this khariff season. This was revealed by Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Harish Rawat on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi today. Mr Rawat said that the good monsoon and dedicated efforts of the State and Centre have contributed to the good paddy crop. He said that the rice production in the previous khariff season was around 85 million tonnes. He added that the food grain production will be good this year as well as the country is likely to experience another good monsoon season this year.
