Rice procurement in the Kharif Marketing season this year has crossed the mark of 341 lakh tonnes. According to the official statistics over 341 lakh tonnes rice has been procured by the various government agencies till November 2011.

Andhra Pradesh has led the States by procuring over 96 lakh tonnes of rice followed by Punjab.
