The government has deferred revision of natural gas prices by three months pending a comprehensive review. This decision was taken at the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs – CCEA- in New Delhi this evening. Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan told reporters after the meeting that pricing guidelines, which were announced on 10th of January this year need comprehensive discussion and consultation with stakeholders in the interest of the common man.
Replying to a query, Pradhan said, the current rate of 4.2 dollar per million British thermal units will continue till September end. He ruled out the possibility of increasing the prices of LPG and PNG saying that there is no such proposal before the government.
