Revised design for reconstruction of earthquake damaged housing project in Sikkim

The Sikkim Government has approved a revised design for the reconstruction of Earthquake Damaged Rural Housing Project. Each house to be constructed under the Project, will cost about five lakh rupees. AIR Gangtok correspondent says the State Government has announced that all houses in villages, completely damaged in the 18th September earthquake last year, will be reconstructed. The State Cabinet has approved about sixteen crore fifty lakh rupees under the Prime Minister's Relief Package and the National Disaster Relief Fund for renovation and Re-construction of buildings and Infrastructure damaged by the earthquake.
