In Chhattisgarh, the review of the cases of the prisoners and the under-trials in the jails of the state is now being processed by the high power standing committee. The second meeting of the committee was held today in Raipur under the chairmanship of the former chief secretary of Madhya Pradesh Mrs. Nirmala Buch. High level officials of the government including the chief secretary and the police D.G. attended the meeting. The meeting follows the agreement reached between the mediators of the state government and the Maoists in the context of the release of the Sukma collector Alex Paul Menon. Menon was rleased by the Maoists last evening.
