Review of peace pact inked with ANVC, ANVC-B to be held in May, June: HMO Joint Secretary

Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (North East in-charge) Satyendra Garg has said that a detailed review of the peace pact inked with the militant organisation based in Meghalaya, Achik National Volunteer Council (ANVC) and its faction group ANVC-B will be held in May or June this year.<br/><br/>Following a short review meeting with State Government officials in Shillong today, Garg told reporters that the review meeting was called on a short notice and the next review meeting would be attended by all stakeholders including nominees from ANVC-B. He added that there are no problems regarding rehabilitation of ANVC cadres, but there is delay for rehabilitation for ANVC-B due to operational glitches.<br/><br/>He further said all cadres who have surrendered or have disbanded through suspension of operation have ground rules and all of them should adhere to those rules failing which they are liable for legal action. The meeting was attended by senior officials from as many as 14 departments including the police.
