Revenue Collection for the last fiscal has outshined all estimates to affirm India's robust growth trajectory. The provisional figures for Net Indirect Tax collections released by the Finance Ministry for the Financial Year 2020-21 has shown growth of more than 12 per cent as compared to the actual Revenue Receipts in Financial Year 2019-20.
The provisional figures for indirect tax collections including both GST & non-GST numbers for the last fiscal has shown net revenue collections of 10 lakh 71 thousand crore rupees as compared to 9 lakh 54 thousand Crore rupees for the 2019-20 fiscal registering a growth of 12.3 per cent. These tax collections also show that the achievement has been 8.2 per cent more than that envisaged under the Revised Estimates.
The growth story in terms of revenue collection has been witnessed in all segments including the Customs with around 21 per cent and Central Excise registering over 59 per cent increase compared to their numbers in the financial year of 2019-20.
The actual net GST collection is also 106 per cent of total targeted collection.
The GST collections have registered a phenomenal growth and collections exceeded 1 lakh crore rupees in each of the last six months with March witnessing an all-time high collection of 1 lakh 24 thousand crore rupees.
