Cabinet today enhanced the age of superannuation of non-teaching, Public Health Specialists and General Duty Medical Officers in sub-cadre of Central Health Service to 65 years. Briefing reporters, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, this will help in better patient care, proper academic activities in Medical colleges. It will also help in effective implementation of National Health Programmes for delivery of health care services. The government had recently enhanced retirement age of doctors in teaching sub-cadre from 62 to 65 years in view of huge shortfall of teaching specialists. <br/><br/>The Cabinet also gave ex-post facto approval to the MoU between Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India and India Taipei Association of Taiwan for cooperation in the field of agriculture and allied Sector. In an another decision, the Cabinet cleared the signing of Air Services Agreement between India and Taiwan. The Agreement signifies an important landmark in the civil aviation relations between the two countries and has the potential to spur greater trade, investment, tourism and cultural exchanges.<br/><br/> The Cabinet also approved signing of 15 year contract by the Earth Sciences Ministry with the International Seabed Authority for undertaking exploration and other developmental activities related to Polymetallic Sulphides in the allotted area of ten thousand squire kilometer. It will be done in parts of Central and South – West Indian Ridges, located in the Indian Ocean. <br/><br/>The Cabinet also gave its ex-post facto approval to the Agreement on Labour Co-operation between India and Saudi Arabia. It was signed in Riyadh in April this year during the visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Saudi Arabia. It would benefit the Indian emigrant workers, especially in the unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled categories who are working in Saudi Arabia. Besides, the Cabinet was apprised of the MoU between Indian Space Research Organization and Canadian Space Agency on cooperation in the field of outer space.
