Banaras Hindu University Vice-Chancellor, GC Tripathi today said that an inquiry committee headed by a retired Allahabad High Court Judge VK Dixit has been set up to probe the violence incident in the campus. <br/><br/>Talking to media in New Delhi, Mr. Tripathi said, the action will be taken on basis of the recommendations of the committee. He said the University Administration will take every possible step for the safety of students.<br/><br/>State Government Spokesperson and Power Minister Srikant Sharma said in Lucknow today that people responsible for the misdeeds will not be spared. He accused opposition parties for disturbing academic atmosphere of the educational institutions for their political benefits.' <br/><br/><br/>Meanwhile Varanasi Commissioner Nitin Ramesh Gokaran has submitted his report to the government this evening about the BHU incidents. He was asked by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to probe report the incident of baton charge by the police on students and journalists. <br/><br/>Our correspondent reports that it is learnt that the report has held BHU authorities responsible for not handling the situation with sensitivity and not taking proper actions on the complaint of eve teasing lodged by a girl student. <br/><br/>The report also said that if the matter had been settled on time then there would not have been such a big controversy.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, National Human Rights Commission has issued notices to UP government and the Vice-Chancellor over the reported inaction of the University on a complaint of eve-teasing and police action against the agitating students. <br/><br/>Taking suo motu cognizance of media reports over the incident, the Commission has sought detailed reports form UP Chief Secretary, DGP and the BHU VC within four weeks. <br/><br/>The Commission has observed that the contents of the media reports are indicative of lapses on the part of the university authorities including the security guards.
