Retired Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan has underscored the need for free legal aid to the poor. <br/><br/>Speaking at a farewell function in New Delhi today, he urged the lawyers to come forward and help the poor. <br/><br/>Mr Balakrishnan said in poor states like Chhattisgarh very few people afford to seek legal remedy. He also called for administrative reforms for speedy delivery of justice.<br/>
