In Uttar Pradesh, after first phase of counting for three-tier Panchayat elections, more than fifteen (15) thousand Gram Pradhans have been declared elected so far. Besides this, over 52, 000 members have been elected for Gram Panchayats, while about 15, 000 candidates declared elected as members for Chetra Panchayats so far. However, the results for Zila Panchayts are still awaited and only two members have been declared elected so far. Counting is on in Block headquarters throughout the state.
