In Andhra Pradesh, resignations by Members of Parliament and Legislators demanding statehood for Telangana continued today. The number of Legislators who resigned has gone up to 98 as 9 more members sent their papers to the deputy presiding officers of Legislature through fax. Two Lok Sabha Members of Telangana Rastra Samithi also have sent their resignations by fax to Lok Sabha Speaker taking the total number of resignations to 12 so far. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to convince the leaders to withdraw their resignations. On the other hand, barring minor incidents, the 48-hour long bandh called by Telangana Joint Action Committee, JAC has remained peaceful so far. The road-commuters are facing sever hardships with the State Transport Corporation suspending its thousands of services across Telangana region due to Bandh.
