Reshuffle in Oman cabinet

In a second reshuffle, Omani Ruler Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed has dropped two senior and powerful ministers from cabinet. According to Official Oman news agency, he replaced Minister of Diwan of Royal Court and Minister of Royal Office. Recently, Oman has seen demonstrations in different parts of the country during which people have asked for, among other demands, removal of ministers. Last Saturday, the Sultan had made six changes to the Cabinet after protests peaked in Sohar as well as in Salalah. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has banned all protests and marches in the country. According to Saudi state television, Interior Ministry has issued the orders after a small protests was staged in the eastern province yesterday. State news channel al-Ekhbariya has said that security forces would use all measures to prevent any attempt to disrupt public order. In Yemen, large numbers of people protested in several cities across the country pressing on with demands that the country's president President Ali Abdullah Saleh step down. Reports say that several members of ruling Congress Party resigned. In Bahrain, Thousands of formed a human chain around the capital yesterday as their demonstration enters its third week. A leading opposition member of Al Wefaq Shiite group Abdul Jalil Khalil has earlier said that opposition will talk to the crown prince without pre-conditions. He however said that no date has been set for the beginning of the talks. The opposition has previously called for formation of a constitutional monarchy that would have an elected government. Hundreds of Egyptians gathered outside Cairo offices of the nation's internal security services yesterday, a day after protesters beat officials inside the agency's building in the Alexandria.
