RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das today said that the Reserve Bank has no reason to doubt government's intention to maintain fiscal prudence following the corporate tax cut. Addressing a press conference post the fourth bi-monthly monetary policy announcement in Mumbai today, Mr. Das said government has many sources of revenue generation and hoped that the government has given thought on how it will compensate for the estimated revenue loss of about 1.45 lakh crore.<br />''<br />''Refuting media speculations regarding government's demand for a payment of 30,000 crore rupees as interim dividend, the RBI Governor said there is no such official demand as yet.<br />''<br />''Talking about the recent PMC Bank scam, the RBI Governor said there is no reason for panic adding that one incident in one bank should not be used to generalise about the health of Indian banking system or cooperative bank sector. Stating that Indian banking system is absolutely sound and stable, Mr. Das said RBI has been very swift and prompt in initiating action in the PMC scam. Mr. Das said RBI attaches highest priority to safety of investor deposits and hence the bank's liquidity position is being monitored and the withdrawal limit is being gradually increased. He said a complaint has been filed with the Economic Offences Wing and even an administrator has been appointed to oversee the bank's working.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;"><br />''On a question of any upcoming regulatory changes in view of the PMC scam, Mr. Das said changes in regulatory provisions, if required will be discussed with the government. He, however, added that the Reserve Bank will not let any cooperative bank to collapse. He also said that RBI's Prompt Corrective Action framework is one such measure that helps banks correct regulatory deviations and be back on their wheels in a timely manner.&nbsp;</span><br />
