Minister for Minority Affairs, Najma Heptulla has said that providing reservation was no solution to the development of Muslims.

She stressed that the new government will ensure progress of all communities, with special focus on education facilities for minorities.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi after taking charge of the ministry, Ms. Heptulla said that it is important to bring in development through education and there is a need to develop the educational institutions of minorities.

When asked about the recommendations of Sacchar Committee, she said that it was not necessary to implement all the recommendations of the committee.
