The Afghan Defence Minister says rescue efforts would continue through the night to try to reach those still thought to be trapped in a mountain tunnel north of Kabul. after it was engulfed by a series of avalanches. At least 24 people are known to have died but another forty are still missing. And rescuers fear that many more may be trapped by the snow blocking the Salang Tunnel.
