Rescue operation in affected areas in Brazil

The Brazilian military is stepping up its efforts to reach communities cut off by floods and landslides that killed more than six hundred and seventy people in the Serrana area, north of Rio de Janeiro, over the past week. A break in the rainy weather has allowed helicopters to get supplies and rescuers into remote mountain villages.
