Delhi Police today informed  a Delhi Court that the request for sanction to prosecute former President of Jawahar Lal Nehru University Students' Union Kanhaiya Kumar and others is pending before the Home Department of the Delhi Government. The police said to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of a Delhi Court that it has done its part and is now awaiting the decision.
