National Investigation Agency, NIA, has said that the request for red corner notice against controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik was rejected by the Interpol.<br/><br/>The International Police Organisation has rejected the NIA's request because the charge sheet had not been filed when the request was submitted to the Interpol Headquarters. NIA spokesperson said, the agency will submit a fresh request to Interpol as charge sheet has already been filed in the concerned NIA court in Mumbai. <br/><br/>Naik is accused of spreading hatred by his provocative speeches, funding terrorists and laundering several crores of money over the years. Last year in November, the Indian government had banned Naik and his organisation Islamic Research Foundation for five years, after declaring it an unlawful organisation. <br/><br/>The Interpol red corner notice against Naik would mean that he will be declared an international fugitive and could be arrested by any agency around the world.
