Republicans gain control of House of Representatives

US voters delivered a stunning defeat to Barack Obama's Democratic Party as the opposition Republicans gained control of the House of Representatives by securing at least 239 of the 435 seats. The Democrats got 184. 12 seats are still in dispute. However, in the US Senate according to latest figures the Democrats had 51 while Republican secured 46 seats out of 100 . Three seats are still in dispute. The Democrats managed to maintain their hold in the senate but with reduced majority.
