In continuations of the various functions to mark Republic Day, an Indian Republic Day Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira was organised in Dubai. Minister of Coal Sri Prakash Jaiswal was the chief guest on the occasion. It was attended by a number of Hindi and Urdu poets from India and Pakistan, besides lovers of Urdu-Hindi poetry from the subcontinent who live in various parts of the UAE. The audience appreciated the Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira, which represents the cherished tradition of Indian subcontinent. The Ambassador of India to UAE, MK Lokesh, Consul General of India in Dubai Sanjay Verma, the leader of congress legislature party in Uttar Pradesh Pramod Tiwari and organiser Syed Salahuddin were among those present on the occasion.
