<span style="color: #222222;">The 71<sup>st</sup>&nbsp;Republic Day was celebrated by the High Commission of India in Dhaka today. High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das unfurled the national flag.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Mahar regimental band of the Indian Army which was specially flown in for the occasion, played the National Anthem.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">After the flag hoisting ceremony, the High Commissioner read out the President's address to the nation given on the eve of the Republic Day in Delhi.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">A large number of expatriate Indians from Bangladesh took part in the celebration.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The flag hoisting and reading of the President's address was followed by a colourful programme of dance and music by the children. They presented the patriotic dance-drama to great applause of the gathered audience.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Speaking to Prasar Bharti Spl Correspondent in Dhaka High Commissioner Riva Ganguly Das commended the Indian community for their enthusiastic participation in the Republic Day event at the High Commission. She said that the current year marks the centenary year of the founder President of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. During this period a number of activities will take place which will further strengthen the friendship between the two countries.</span><br />'' &nbsp;
