Republic Day celebrated at Indo-Bangladesh border Enclaves

Republic Day was also celebrated at Chitmahal or the Indo-Bangladesh border Enclaves which were handed over to each other barely one and half years ago. Our correspondent visited one such enclave today and reports that the new citizens have adapted and assimilated themselves to the Indian Society with utmost ease.<br/><br/>For most of the people who chose to stay back on the Indian side of the fence rather than going to Bangladesh irrespective of their religious affinity, this Republic Day has come as an opportunity to stamp their claim to their ancestral land and their affinity to India's multi lingual, multi ethnic and multi religious culture where existence is deeply rooted in tolerance and co existence, along with democracy.
