Reports being circulated on social media regarding adulteration in milk adversely affecting health of public is false and contrary to facts, says Govt

The Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Ministry has debunked the reports being circulated on social media regarding adulteration in milk adversely affecting the health of the public in the country. Reportedly, a World Health Organisation (WHO) advisory to the Indian Government stated that, if adulteration of milk and milk products is not checked immediately, 87 per cent of citizens would be suffering from serious diseases like cancer by the year 2025. The Ministry informed that the WHO confirmed to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India that they had never issued such an advisory to the Indian Government. The Ministry reiterated that this kind of false information being circulated on social media and on WhatsApp should not be given any credence.
