The Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Praveen Kumar has said that repolling has been ordered in eight polling stations in the state. Briefing newspersons in Chennai today,he said that polling passed off peacefully in all the districts and some were minor incidents. Replying to a query on the rise in poll percentage, he said that it was due to the awareness of the voters and appreciated them for being heroes of the election. With regard to the ninety one counting centres, the CEO told that there would be three tier security for the strong rooms in which the evms were kept. He also added that 27 companies of crpf personnel will be on round the clock guard in the inner ring and the Tamilnadu Special Police would be providing security in the second tier of the ring. Mr.Praveen Kumar said that the total of 78 .12 percent subject to postalballot and re poll has been recorded till now. He also said that there was also a remarkable number of 24 thousand 561 voters who had decided on opting for 49″o” in the state.
