Renowned Urdu poet and former Rajya Sabha MP Bekal Utsahi passed away in Delhi today. He was native of Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh. He breathed his last at Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital? earlier in the day. Eighty eight years' old Bekal Utsahi was undergoing treatment for brain hemorrhage at the hospital. <br/><br/>Various famous Urdu and Hindi poets and litterateur have expressed grief over the demise of Utsahi. They said that it is a national loss as he used to highlight ?India's traditions, culture and unity by penning down beautiful poetry, the words of which came straight from his soul?. Mr Utsahi was best known for his soulful and patriotic 'Geet', a form of poetic rendition popular both in Hindi and Urdu.
