Remove industrial bottlenecks, constraints to give impetus to manufacturing sector

Noted ecconomist and Member of the Planning Commission Mr Arun Meira today strongly advocated removing the industrial bottlenecks and constraints to give impetus to the manufacturing sector. In an exclusive interview to All India radio, Mr Meira pitched for strengthening infrastructure like power, road connectivity, railways and ports to push factory out put.Industial Growth had slided down to 3.3 per cent in July to a two year low. He said that the contribution of manufacturing sector is just 16 percent to the GDP and efforts are on to increase it. He said the removal of the bottle necks is all the more important as the focus is on small sector industry which is the largest creator of employment in the country. He said the objective of inclusive growth can be achieved only by creating more jobs and efforts are on to achieve this objective.
