Religious intolerance: Opposition indulging in systematic malicious campaign, says Venkaiah

Minister of Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu has said that the opposition is indulging in a systematic malicious campaign that religious intolerance has increased in the country. Addressing the gathering during the inauguration of first Rashtryia Sanskriti Mahostav in New Delhi today, Mr Naidu said few fringe elements are brining a bad name to the country and they should be segregated and isolated. He said, due to this campaign some people are misled and some are misreading, which is not good for the country and it should be condemned. Mr Naidu said the people should not glorify those incidents and never try to defame the country in the international arena.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Mr Naidu said the purpose of this festival is to showcase the soft power of India through cultural heritage and unity in diversity. The Minister said these kind of national festival also provide great opportunities to the people to experience great culture and traditions of India. <br/><br/>The Mahostav is organised at Indira Gandhi National Culture and Arts Center in New Delhi, from 1st to 8th of this month. It will feature 150 art forms and different performances by more than 1500 artists. The festival will also showcase the indigenous handicraft from all across the country by more than 400 master craftsmen. Different cuisine by traditional chefs are also available in the festival.
