The 17 Indians who were awarded death sentence by the Sharia Court of Sharjah for killing a Pakistani national and injuring 3 others took a sigh of relief today as one of the prime witnesses Mushtaq Ahmad refused to identify any of them during cross-examination, Testifying before the presiding judge Abdul Redha Jasim, the Prime witness, Ahmad said that he was attacked by a mob of 35-40 Indians, but unable to identify any of them. The Defence Counsels also raised questions about the authenticity of the post-mortem report, which was issued in July 2008, while the case occurred in January 2009.The case has now been fixed on 13th October for the next hearing.
